He knows he's not well, because, well, sometimes he sees… things. People that aren't there. Can hear them too. Talking to him, telling him what to do. When it gets too much he squeezes his eyes shut and puts his hands over his ears.
Not like the shouting and screaming in his head. Sometimes it's like a distant echo, sometimes it's so close he has to scream to block it out.
"No." - "Please." - "Don't."
But he's getting better. He has to. Has to help. Make it stop.
Buffy says it's the basement that's making him crazy. But Spike thinks it's the voices….
