Apr 19, 2008 DUDE, it's freaking beautiful. You posted it here a long time ago and I'm not sure you're gonna read this comment, but I had to write it. (I'm sorry for any spelling mistakes I probably have, I'm not American.)

Loved the angst of the moment, the yearning, the love. They should have had that, they would have, if it were going to be one of their last nights they ever thought they might have together.
You did the Buffy-speak in the note perfectly! She wrote, like she speaks, although, of course, in the note, was able to say what she couldn't out loud, but you had her inflections.

DP... just when I don't think it's possible to love you anymore, you go and write a fic like this. You rock.

May 12, 2003 This was fantastic writing. It was also very sad, but so sweet. Trying to remember him...what an awesome piece of fanfiction you have here.

May 11, 2003 Buffy's sudden, awful premonition of Spike's self-sacrifice causes her to desperately run her fingers over his face, memorizing every line and curve of his countenance and that aching look of love in his earnest blue eyes - that moment was absolutely HEARTBREAKING. Sob.

Your story was awesome! I have to admit, it made me cry. It was the sweetest Buffy/Spike moment that I've read in a long time. It was absolutely perfect. Please, keep up the good work!!!

May 9, 2003 Bite your tongue! I will curl up into a ball and speak in short, non-commital phrases before I eventually DIE if I don't get to know what was written in the actual letter! But I just loved your version. It was really wonderful. How cliche, but I think you get me. *grins*

May 9, 2003 Thanks, DP - a lovely story, to give us more background on what happened between them. Plus I like your version of the note Buffy left him - ME will probably never let us know what was in it, so thank you for sharing your version!

May 9, 2003 Favorite line: "Spike - pair up with Kennedy for the remained of the apocalypse." I just love how it is implied that *that* could be one of the worst ways Buffy could punish Spike. lol Which is a perfect example of the wonderful humor threaded through such a poingant story that is so true to the voices of both Buffy and Spike. I can absolutely see this moment happening in the in between time that we never saw on screen. Thank you for sharing.
Oh, ps - thanks for including the "note." It thrilled me to no end that she left him and have been pondering what exactly she might have written in it. I definitely like your version. :)

Ok, new attempt after overcoming the feeling of being overwhelmed: a gorgeous moment and something that, to my mind, both should have happened and could have happenend; this really constitutes a credible background for Buffy's renewed strength and her confident decision to tackle the First in the vineyard on her own. Thanks for giving us this most satisfying, yet realistic scene. & :-)

May 9, 2003 | This is absolutely wonderful, sweet but not too sweet, with just the right amount of subtle funny to make it truly Buffy-esque. Just lovely.
