Oh.... that was so wonderful. My second time reading it and I loved it so much and cried again.
Thank you

I ACTUALLY CRIED WHICH IS AN UNUSUAL THING. IF ONLY ME WENT IN THIS DIRECTION... IT IS LOVELY TO READ SUCH ENDINGS AND TO HAVE THAT SENSE OF SATISFACTION. SOMEONE AT LEAST UNDERSTANDS. I THING THE SHOW HAD NOT APPRECIATED THE COMPLEXITY OF SPIKE'S CHARACTER.

That was amazing! It touched me deeply, and I cried. The scene on the porch was so incredibly well written. The part that was the most moving for me was when Spike was talking about the security blanket thing, and asked "Please don't ask me to do that". The fact it makes it sound like he would for her, no matter how much it hurt himself was perfect. Thank you so much great writing!

god your good!!!!!!!!!!!!
that was soooosososososo great
u really gave people an idea of what happened after spike was taken out of the cave. (by the way i was soooo mad they didnt put that in the actual show) any way.....
please keep writing and maybe even do a sequel or somting?????:)

Damn. I wasn't expected to cry, but wow. Amazing writing, like perfect. Eveything about it was just right. Thanks so much for the story!

Wow. This made me cry, tore at my heart, and finally gave what the real series never did. You captured the essence of Spike and made me love him all over again. Thank you so much!

I've read this before and loved it so. Why did I never tell you how much I love your Spike/Buffy interaction? Quiet poetry, real feeling, deliciously hot and sweet. Thanks ever so for the lovely, realistic season 7 Spuffy. Never fails to make me teary, but in a good way.

As twisted as it sounds, I fantasied that the Scooby (including Dawn) and the potentials round up together to be the family of abusers for kick-the-Spike-party. Buffy called the the police and have them all arrested. Let them rot in cell.Later she and Spike use C4 and rocket-launcher to kill all the nasties. The end. haha. Alright, sorry for the rants. Nice chapter but angsty indeed. I guess Buffy never wanted to explain why she is helping Spike thus, the Scooby will continue to hate Spike even more. Any sequel to the story?

LOVED IT!! Can You continue it please!!?...Pretty please:)

This was an amazing story! I think there should be another chapter where the scoobies and everyone finds out about Spike and Buffy.

I just have to tell you that this story and your writing is TERRIFIC. You rock! You captured both characters perfectly. Are you going to write any more stories?
Thank You!!

Brilliant story - really well-wrtten. I like the prickly rush of ants!

Spuffy! Spuffy! Joy! Joy! Why can't the writers get that we *need* this kind of thing? But that's why we have fanfic--to get it right. And this certainly did. Yay you!

Hi Sabre,
*adored* this-- these days, it isn't easy to come up with a credible and convincing story of Buffy and Spike re-assessing their relationship and finding each other amidst all the wreckage, but you really did it. Kudos to you and your writing of these characters; loved the way everything played out in the end-- not schmoopy but emotionally resonant.
Thanks a lot, and please, keep writing.
PS: Glad you didn't include more biting; I don't think it would have fit naturally into the storyline and development...

You've just written my dream of how this should have happened on the show. It's nice to know there's somewhere to go to be satisfied! Thank You!

So very, very sweet. All the character voices ring true. I don't imagine the actual show will end like this but wouldn't it be lovely if it would. Thank you.
43  Tess posted on Apr 11, 2003
I just have to tell you how incredibly talented you are. Your writing is so incredibly vivid and descriptive...I feel like I'm watching the scene play out before my eyes rather than reading it and imagining it in my head. Your characterization of Spike and Buffy is incredible...so real, so natural, so effortless.
A wonderful story. Keep up the good work! And thank you for sharing your gift with all of us.

Just read the whole thing starting at chapter 1 and want to repeat what I've already told you. You write with such poetry in your prose - you certanly have the 'art of using words charged with the utmost meaning, as a shorthand for emotions'. Epilogue? Yes please.
41  len posted on Apr 10, 2003
Bitey good. un-bitey spuffy sex=also good. so don't worry about not having bitey in the last chapter-you did good with the slowly drawn out sex scene.
40  Pin posted on Apr 10, 2003
Wonderfully done; a truely epic love scene. I really appreciate the time that you took to develop their feelings. Just beautiful and a real saver. Of course, I wouldn't object to a morning after epilogue...hint, hint. Thanks again - I'm going to go read the whole story over again, right now. ;o)

Love it!!! Promise us that you'll keep writing more like this when we need our Spike/Buffy fix! I need to read stories like this more often, I loved it!!! Thank You

I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you! Have I mentioned I love you??? Oh, if only!
37  Ellen posted on Apr 10, 2003
Great story! Like it would have been some kind of artistic crime to end Buffy with a grand, epic romance! I've discovered wonderful fan fic writers like you, and now the actual show has become secondary! Please write more of these wonderful stories!
36  hesadevil posted on Apr 10, 2003
I'm all gooey again over the comfort blanket part. To think, all this could have been ours if only ME were not so blind.
35  debbicles posted on Apr 9, 2003
Sabre, this is beautiful. I love the part where Spike looks outside at the sunshine and feels the poet in him moved by the sight.
Not to mention the promise of future "tastings"!! Hmmm hmmm!
And Giles' reaction is what I hoped for on the show, but haven't got. Yet. I hope.

All the voices are very true.

Can't wait for the next, but if I have to, I know it will be more than worth it.

Loved it. Need I say more?
32  Karaph posted on Apr 9, 2003
Loved the Spike/Giles interaction. It felt so real. And yeah, ready for the 'tasting' part.
31  spudvalley posted on Apr 8, 2003
I truly enjoyed this story. The Spike and Buffy interaction is amazingly accurate. If only...
At least in your world I can get the endings I want!
